This Private Stock Custom 22 is a breathtaking example of what happens when the finest materials meet master craftsmanship. The visual impact of this guitar is immediate; the "Frostbite Glow" High Gloss Nitro finish over a deeply figured Quilted Maple top creates an aesthetic that is both icy and electric. But the real magic lies in the wood selection, personally hand-picked from the PRS Private Stock Vault. The body is crafted from Black Limba (often known as Korina), a legendary tonewood prized for its midrange punch and mahogany-like warmth with added clarity.
Ideally paired with the body is a luxurious Ziricote neck and fingerboard. Ziricote is known not only for its stunning "spider-web" grain patterns but for its density, which translates to incredible sustain and a smooth, glassy feel under the fingers. The Wide Fat neck carve offers a substantial, vintage-inspired grip that feels instantly broken in. While the Custom 22 has been the workhorse for legends throughout PRS history, this specific build elevates that legacy into the realm of functional art.
Sonically, this instrument is powered by a pair of 58/15 LT+ (Low Turn) pickups.
