Used Gibson Custom Shop M2M 1958 Les Paul Standard - Sweet Cherry Red
Step onto the stage with a piece of rock 'n' roll history reimagined through Gibson’s prestigious Made to Measure (M2M) program. The 1958 Les Paul Standard marks the legendary golden era where the single-cut icon truly came into its own, championed through the decades by icons like Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Slash, and Billy Gibbons. Finished in an eye-catching Sweet Cherry Red, this custom piece has been treated to the Gibson Murphy Lab’s Light Aging process. Hand-applied lacquer checking and subtle, authentic play wear give it the soul, character, and broken-in magic of a golden-era heirloom that’s seen decades of stage time.
At the heart of this guitar’s incredible sustain and rich resonance is a solid one-piece lightweight mahogany body topped with a two-piece plain maple top. The solid mahogany neck features a beefy 1950s Chunky C profile, giving you substantial mass for maximum bending leverage and incredible acoustic transfer into the body. Coupled with an Indian rosewood fingerboard featuring historic narrow frets and extra-rolled binding, this neck fills your hand comfortably and plays like an instrument you’ve owned for thirty years.
Tonal magic comes courtesy of a calibrated set of unpotted Gibson Custombucker Alnico 3 humbuckers, meticulously engineered to recreate the legendary voice of late-'50s Patent Applied For (PAF) pickups. Hand-wired with CTS 500K audio taper potentiometers and paper-in-oil capacitors, these pickups capture everything from sweet, woody neck tones to searing, articulate bridge bite with unbelievable touch sensitivity. Whether you're rolling back the volume for chiming cleans or driving a tube amp into sweet harmonic saturation, this '58 Les Paul delivers the tone of legends.
