Taylor Gold Label 814e Koa - Natural

This Gold Label 814e Koa, designed by master luthier Andy Powers, is a stunning testament to the perfect marriage of vintage inspiration and modern innovation. It starts with a new "Super Auditorium" body, a larger and more resonant take on the classic Grand Auditorium shape. This new body style, combined with Taylor’s revolutionary fanned V-Class bracing, creates a powerful and focused voice that harks back to the golden era of acoustic guitars. The heart of its sound is the captivating pairing of a torrefied Sitka spruce top with beautifully figured Hawaiian koa back and sides.

Hawaiian Koa is a stunning tonewood, often compared to its cousin Australian Blackwood, and prized for its midrange-focused tone. This Gold Label model takes advantage of koa's crisp, articulate tonality and complements it with the added warmth and responsiveness of a torrefied Sitka spruce top. Torrefaction, a special roasting process, gives the spruce an aged-in quality, producing the kind of played-in sweetness and depth that normally takes decades to achieve. The result is an instrument that offers incredible volume, sustain, and clarity, allowing for a dynamic playing experience whether you're a heavy strummer or a delicate fingerpicker.
