Description
Rampone & Cazzani 2003/SB/G Solid Bronze Half-Curved Soprano Saxophone with High G
Born from a passionate, multi-generational search for the "perfect sound," the Rampone & Cazzani 2003/SB/G Half-Curved Soprano Saxophone (Saxello) is a testament to the Italian tradition of instrument making. Handcrafted by the Zolla family in Quarna Sotto, Italy, this exceptional instrument features an unlacquered, natural solid bronze body that allows the metal's unique soul to resonate fully. By rejecting artificial coatings and using a proprietary matte finish to gently slow oxidation, Rampone & Cazzani frees the horn's natural harmonics, delivering an incredibly rich, warm, and complex tonal palette.
Unlike standard modern sopranos, this model is built with Rampone's signature wide bore geometry and a single-piece body construction with an integrated, non-removable neck. This design mirrors the depth and character of the finest vintage horns while providing maximum sonic freedom. Each instrument is meticulously shaped using traditional wooden mallets and steel forms, annealed to perfection, and beautifully hand-engraved. Blending experimental rigor with artisan craftsmanship, this half-curved soprano offers discerning players an expansive range from Low Bb to High G, smooth ergonomics, and an unmatched flexibility of sound.
