When Paul Reed Smith unveiled the original Custom 24 back in 1985, it revolutionized the electric guitar world, establishing a new benchmark for playability, tonal versatility, and stunning craftsmanship. The S2 Custom 24 carries that legendary DNA straight from the Stevensville, Maryland factory into a gig-ready workhorse. Over the decades, the Custom 24 platform has earned its place on stage and in the studio with rock icons ranging from Carlos Santana and Dave Navarro to Al Di Meola and Alex Lifeson. This limited-edition variation turns heads immediately thanks to a dramatic exotic poplar burl top dressed in a deep, organic Black Gold Burst finish with a sleek satin nitro coating.
Underneath that mesmerizing burl cap lies a rich, resonant mahogany back paired with a set mahogany neck and a smooth East Indian Rosewood fretboard. Mahogany provides that warm, thick sustain with tight low-end punch, while the 25” scale length and 24-fret Pattern Thin neck profile give you effortless access all the way up the register. Ivory Old School Bird inlays trace the fingerboard, delivering an iconic aesthetic touch that players around the globe know and love.
Tonally, this guitar is built to handle anything you throw at it. Powered by USA-made PRS 85/15 treble and bass humbuckers, it delivers exceptional clarity with an extended high and low-end response that cuts through any mix.
