It is hard to believe it has been four decades since Paul Reed Smith changed the landscape of the electric guitar forever. The PRS Limited Edition 40th Anniversary Custom 24 is a stunning tribute to the instrument that started it all, blending the history that icons like Carlos Santana and David Grissom helped build with modern innovation. Limited to just 400 pieces worldwide, this guitar is built on the legendary foundation of a mahogany back and neck paired with an Artist Grade figured maple top. It features the "Retro Violin" top carve, offering a tactile, vintage feel that pays homage to the earliest PRS builds coming out of Annapolis.
While the "Old School" bird inlays and Pre-Factory Eagle headstock logo nod to the past, the tone of this instrument is looking straight toward the future. This model features a gorgeous Ziricote fretboard and matching headstock veneer, adding a distinct visual flair and a snappy, articulate attack to the warm mahogany sustain. Under the hood, you’ll find the all-new PRS DMO (Dynamic, Musical, Open) pickups.
