Description
PRS Guitars Private Stock Custom 24 - Natural
Ever since Paul Reed Smith introduced the Custom 24 to the world in 1985, it has stood as the quintessential modern American classic—a versatile workhorse embraced by legends ranging from Carlos Santana to Al Di Meola. This particular instrument represents the very pinnacle of the PRS craft: Private Stock #12435. Hand-crafted in Stevensville, Maryland, its exquisite woods were personally selected from the PRS Private Stock Vault to create a one-of-a-kind heirloom instrument built exclusively for the USA.
Visually and tonally, this guitar is an absolute showstopper. It pairs a hand-selected figured Koa top with a lightweight, resonant Swamp Ash body, all showcased under a breathable High Gloss Nitrocellulose finish. Moving to the neck, you’ll find the holy grail of tonewoods: a solid Brazilian Rosewood neck matched with a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard and headstock veneer. Carved to PRS’s comfortable Pattern Regular profile, the neck feels silky-smooth in the hands, offering bell-like sustain, rich harmonic depth, and touch-sensitive resonance. The fretboard is dressed in stunning Koa bird inlays framed by luminous White Mother of Pearl outlines, complemented by a matching Koa Private Stock eagle on the headstock.
Under the hood, this Custom 24 is loaded with PRS DMO (Treble and Bass) humbuckers. Wired through a 5-way blade selector switch with master volume and tone controls, this setup dishes out everything from full, singing, articulate lead tones to crisp, glassy single-coil snap. Finished with hybrid Gold and Nickel hardware, a PRS Gen III tremolo, Phase III locking tuners with Brazilian Rosewood buttons, and matching Koa pickup rings, this guitar plays like a dream and sounds every bit as spectacular as it looks.
