Paul Reed Smith has never been one to rest on his laurels. From the groundbreaking debut of the Custom 24 in 1985 to modern, boundary-pushing designs developed alongside virtuosos like John Mayer (Silver Sky) and Mark Lettieri (Fiore), PRS continuously evolves by listening to what players need. Enter the PRS Tekton T. Taking its name from the ancient Greek word for artisan or builder, this fresh silhouette was fine-tuned through bicoastal listening sessions with cutting-edge musicians. It bridges classic Maryland craftsmanship with the aggressive, technical demands of modern guitarists, delivering an instrument built for absolute speed, precision, and musical expression.
Dressed in a striking finish, the Tekton T pairs a figured mango top with a lightweight mahogany body shaped with PRS’s sleek shallow violin carve and deep cutaways for unrestricted upper-fret access. The bolt-on maple neck features an ultra-ergonomic Modern "D" profile—the thinnest standard production neck carve PRS has ever crafted—reinforced with internal hormigo strength rods for phenomenal structural rigidity and acoustic resonance. Up on the flat 16" radius ebony fretboard, 24 jumbo stainless steel frets, minimalist offset dot inlays, and glowing blue Luminlay side dots keep complex sweeps, fast tapping runs, and technical chord shapes effortless on any dark stage.
Under the hood, a matched set of custom-voiced PRS Stylus humbuckers delivers punch, warmth, and definition. Built around Alnico 5 magnets, these pickups feature a tailored frequency response specifically optimized to retain clarity whether you are pushing high-gain tube stacks or plugging directly into modern digital amp modelers. With the 3-way blade switch and push/pull coil-splitting tone pot, you have instant access to six versatile voices ranging from glassy single-coil shimmer to muscular humbucking punch. Anchored by the expressive PRS two-point tremolo with brass saddles and paired with Phase III locking tuners, the Tekton T lets you add smooth vibrato and soaring dips while locking down rock-solid tuning stability.
