For over four decades, PRS Guitars has pushed the envelope of modern instrument building by actively collaborating with boundary-pushing artists. From Carlos Santana shaping the iconic Custom 24 in 1985 to modern progressive icons like Mark Holcomb of Periphery championing the extended range of PRS 7-string guitars, listening to players is in the Maryland company's DNA. Named after the ancient Greek word for "artisan" or "builder," the Tekton SVN is the culmination of extensive artist listening sessions across the country. It represents an all-new family of PRS instruments engineered specifically for players demanding extended-range versatility, modern ergonomic speed, and surgical sonic precision.
The Tekton SVN is built on an inspiring foundation of premium tonewoods, beginning with a lightweight, resonant mahogany body crowned by an exotic figured mango top in a high-gloss nitro finish. PRS carved the body with comfortable belly contours and an exaggerated lower-horn scoop that offers completely unobstructed access all the way to the 24th fret. Bolted firmly to the body is a fast-playing maple neck carved to a Modern "D" SVN profile and reinforced with rigid hormigo strength rods for superior resonance, sustain, and roadworthy stability. An extended 26.5" scale length keeps your low B string tight and punchy, while the flat 16"-radius ebony fingerboard, jumbo stainless steel frets, sleek offset dot inlays, and Luminlay side dots ensure high-speed sweep arpeggios and intricate chord extensions feel natural and effortless.
To deliver clarity across all seven strings, PRS engineered the all-new Stylus SVN humbuckers specifically for the Tekton platform. Voiced with Alnico 5 magnets to produce a balanced, flatter output curve, these pickups excel through high-gain tube heads and modern digital modeling processors alike, retaining string definition and percussive attack without mushing out under heavy saturation. A master volume, a push/pull master tone control for chiming split-coil voicings, and a 3-way blade switch offer immediate tonal flexibility on stage or in the studio. Finished off with a rock-solid string-through PRS 7-string hardtail bridge and smoked black Phase III locking tuners, the Tekton SVN is a high-performance machine built to explore new musical frontiers.
