Description
Bad Cat Jet Black 38 Watt Tube Amp Head
At Palen Music Center, we love gear that inspires you from the moment you plug in, and the Bad Cat Jet Black 38 Watt Tube Amp Head does exactly that. Born from the legendary DNA of Bad Cat’s acclaimed Black Cat circuit, the Jet Black takes that boutique British-voiced pedigree and supercharges it with more volume, expanded headroom, and visceral punch. Channel 1 brings a bold, articulate personality where cleans ring out with bell-like authority, in-between tones swirl with rich harmonic clarity, and aggressive pick attack easily pushes the front end into singing edge-of-breakup grit. When you need to turn heads, the all-new Channel 2 delivers an unrestrained, muscular rock voice that spans decades of iconic overdrive—from classic vintage crunch to modern high-gain roar.
Under the hood, the Jet Black relies on a carefully selected tube array consisting of three 12AX7 preamp tubes and a formidable quartet of EL84 power tubes. Doubling the traditional pair of EL84s to four allows the amp to output a robust 38 watts, producing tighter low-end tracking and expansive dynamic headroom while retaining the beloved EL84 mid-range bark and sweet, compressed chime when pushed into saturation. The 12AX7s provide lightning-fast transient response and rich harmonic overtone generation, translating every nuance of your hands and your guitar's volume knob. To complete your sonic canvas, Bad Cat equipped the Jet Black with a lush, studio-quality reverb and a vintage-voiced bias-modulated tremolo that adds dimensional motion and depth to your playing.
Built to handle demanding gigs and touring schedules, the Jet Black head is housed in an exceptionally rugged Baltic birch cabinet and driven by custom-wound Bad Cat transformers designed for maximum signal purity, road-tested durability, and an ultra-quiet noise floor. You also get a transparent buffered effects loop, individual speaker outputs to accommodate nearly any cabinet setup, a dedicated line out for direct routing, and an included two-button footswitch for seamless channel and tremolo switching. Whether you're in the studio or commanding the stage, the Jet Black offers a joyous playing experience packed with swagger and touch-sensitive dynamics.
Condition:Mint. Open box. Light wear typical of a gently used Item. Light surface scratches, scuffs, etc.
