Ready to capture that timeless, old-school acoustic magic without wrestling with a vintage, baseball-bat-sized neck? The Martin Road Series 000-12E Retro is a beautiful vintage time capsule and a modern stage rig all rolled into one. This beautiful auditorium-sized guitar steps right out of Martin's classic Style 18 legacy. It honors generations of players who have relied on the focused, articulate punch of a Martin 000 to define American music.
At the core of this guitar is an undeniable tonewood pairing. The solid spruce top delivers an incredibly crisp, ringing high-end with tons of dynamic headroom that breaks in beautifully over time. This is paired up with solid sapele back and sides, which add a gorgeous, woody warmth and a focused midrange punch very similar to mahogany. To make sure all that beautiful tone breathes, Martin tucked scalloped X-bracing under the hood. This design lets the soundboard vibrate freely, creating spectacular note separation and full-bodied bloom whether you are digging in with a flatpick or tickling the strings fingerstyle.
When it's time to step on stage, the built-in Martin E1 electronics accurately translate that rich, woody acoustic tone straight to your amplifier or PA system—completely eliminating any of that harsh acoustic "quack". It even features a convenient built-in tuner right in the soundhole to keep you perfectly in pitch between songs. Adorned with a striking full-body gloss finish, an aging toner top, an Old Style 18 rosette, and nickel open-gear butterbean tuners, this guitar is built to inspire you for the long haul.
