Martin Custom Shop "D" Dreadnought - Mahogany Stain

Imagine a guitar that looks like a sunset and sounds like a dream. This Martin Custom Shop "D" Dreadnought is a masterwork of rare tonewoods and elite craftsmanship, anchored by the stunning choice of Quilted Pommele Sapele for the top, back, and sides. This premium-grade timber is as rare as it is beautiful, offering a visual "pommele" or "quilted" figure that creates an almost 3D effect under the gloss finish. Tonally, Sapele is a close relative of Mahogany but often packs a touch more resonance and high-end sparkle. When combined with Martin's legendary forward-shifted, scalloped X-bracing, you get a guitar that produces a powerful, direct voice with the punchy low end and focused midrange that has made the Dreadnought the king of acoustic body shapes.

The elegance continues with high-end "Style 45" appointments, including a Black Ebony fingerboard adorned with Select Abalone reduced hexagon inlays. The neck is crafted from genuine Mahogany with a Modified Low Oval profile and a High Performance Taper, ensuring that it plays as effortlessly as a modern guitar while retaining that vintage soul. With East Indian Rosewood binding and a Style 45 Mosaic back purfling, every inch of this instrument reflects the heritage of Nazareth, Pennsylvania. Whether you are flatpicking like Tony Rice or looking for the orchestral weightiness favored by legends like Neil Young, this custom build provides the clarity and projection to command any room.
