At Palen Music Center, we are proud to offer the Magnatone Kingston, a hand-wired masterpiece designed in collaboration with Chief Engineer Obeid Khan and legendary guitar tech Larry Cragg. Based on a classic "Ivy League" American tube amp circuit, this 12-watt combo amplifier channels the golden age of tone while delivering the boutique reliability and refined voice that modern players demand. Housed in a robust, road-worthy cabinet featuring Magnatone’s signature Traditional Collection cosmetics, its construction balances a compact, grab-and-go form factor with a surprisingly full-range acoustic presence.
At the heart of the Kingston's touch-sensitive voice is a carefully chosen tube complement consisting of two 12AX7 preamp tubes and a pair of 6V6 power tubes running in a push-pull configuration. The 12AX7 tubes shape the front-end clarity and feed the onboard Accutronics Digi-Log spring-style reverb, while the 6V6 power tubes impart that unmistakably bouncy, organic American feel. When you keep the volume dialed back, the amp rewards you with glassy, three-dimensional cleans that remain remarkably articulate.
