Based on the legendary 1980s Boss FA-1 FET Preamp—famously used by The Edge of U2 to forge his iconic guitar tones—the Clover takes that vintage magic and expands it into an incredibly versatile tone-shaper. Whether you want to add glass-like clarity to single-coils, tame muddy humbuckers, or drive a tube amp into sweet, natural saturation, this pedal delivers rich harmonically detailed tone with up to +24dB of clean gain on tap.
Built with rugged, gig-ready metal construction and premium components right in Kansas City, the Clover is designed to handle demanding stage and studio use. JHS enhanced the original design by adding a Mid control, a 3-mode rotary selector (Full EQ, No Mid, and No EQ), and a side-mounted Low Cut dip switch. These versatile tonal controls allow you to seamlessly tailor your frequency response to match any guitar, amplifier, or pedal combination without adding unwanted harshness.
Beyond electric guitar, the Clover shines as a Swiss-Army-knife solution for acoustic players and bassists thanks to its built-in XLR output with a ground lift switch. You can send a balanced signal directly to a front-of-house PA or recording interface while simultaneously driving an amplifier onstage.
