Description
Jackson Pro Plus Series Soloist SLA2 - Gloss Black
Ever since Grover Jackson and his team revolutionized the rock and metal landscape in the 1980s, the Jackson Soloist has stood as the definitive thoroughbred of shred. Embraced over decades by guitar royalty from Def Leppard’s Phil Collen to legendary maestro Jeff Beck, the Soloist’s sculpted lines and aggressive tone are deeply woven into guitar history. The Pro Plus Series Soloist SLA2 carries that fierce legacy into the modern era, pairing classic hot-rodded attitude with contemporary, tour-grade appointments in a show-stopping Gloss Black finish accented by gleaming gold hardware.
Crafted for explosive tone and supreme structural integrity, the SLA2 features an arched nyatoh body known for its warm, punchy midrange and rich resonance. Running straight through the core of the guitar is a 3-piece maple and walnut neck reinforced with dual graphite rods, offering steadfast resistance against temperature and humidity swings on the road. The neck’s hand-rubbed oil finish provides a silky, broken-in feel under your fretting hand, transitioning into a bound ebony fingerboard loaded with 24 jumbo stainless-steel frets. With a 12"–16" compound radius, you get comfortable chord grips down by the nut and effortless, lightning-fast lead runs and choke-free bends as you climb up to the highest registers—while glow-in-the-dark Luminlay side dots keep you right on target on pitch-black stages.
Under the hood, this axe comes loaded with the quintessential rock-and-roll pickup pairing: a direct-mounted Seymour Duncan JB TB-4 humbucker at the bridge and a Seymour Duncan '59 SH-1N at the neck. The bridge position dishes out tight, focused low end, screaming upper-midrange bite, and endless sustain, while the neck humbucker delivers warm, articulate chime and sweet bluesy expression. Thanks to a versatile 5-position blade switch, you can easily tap into crystalline split-coil tones alongside full-throated dual-humbucker power. Complete with a recessed Floyd Rose 1000 Series double-locking tremolo system for wild dive bombs, pitch squeals, and unrelenting tuning stability, this Soloist is ready to command any stage or studio session.
