Description
Jackson Pro Origins 1985 San Dimas SD1A - Vanilla Shake
Step back into the golden era of high-octane shred with the Jackson Pro Origins 1985 San Dimas SD1A. Born out of Jackson’s Southern California roots in the heart of the 1980s, the San Dimas design helped ignite the LA Sunset Strip explosion and quickly became a staple for legendary hard rock and heavy metal players like Warren DeMartini, Adrian Smith, and Phil Collen. Celebrating more than 40 years of boundary-pushing performance, this guitar pays direct tribute to Jackson's early history, pairing classic vintage attitude with modern playability.
At the heart of the instrument is a resonant alder body dressed in a classic Vanilla Shake gloss finish, delivering the perfect balance of warm punch, clear highs, and singing sustain that effortlessly cuts through the mix. Bolted to the body is a sturdy maple neck finished in smooth natural satin and artfully tinted to capture the warm amber glow of vintage wood. The speed-optimized neck profile is paired with a 12"–16" compound-radius maple fingerboard and 22 jumbo frets, allowing for comfortable chord work down low and blistering, choke-free bends across the upper register.
Simplicity meets high-output fury in the electronics department with a lone Jackson J-90C bridge humbucker. Meticulously recreated using Jackson's original 1980s recipe, it serves up aggressive harmonics, tight low-end crunch, and biting top-end cut. Accompanied by streamlined dome-style volume and tone controls and a top-loaded Floyd Rose 1000 Series double-locking tremolo, you can unleash wild dive-bombs and expressive vibrato while keeping your tuning rock solid.
