Handcrafted with classic PRS reliability and wrapped in an eye-catching, limited-run Black Paisley vinyl, this amp head is anchored around the historic "Authentic Hendrix" touring circuit. Thoroughly mapped from one of Jimi Hendrix’s personal amplifiers famously played at Woodstock, this circuit preserves the signature high-end clarity, throaty midrange, and dynamic punch of a vintage British stack without the punishing volume.
At the heart of the HDRX 20 are three 12AX7 preamp tubes paired with a duo of 5881 power tubes. The 12AX7s drive rich, responsive harmonic overtones and articulate preamp grit, while the 5881 power section delivers an organic, round low-end with warm, musical compression that breaks up smoothly at attainable volume levels. To make dialing in tone effortless, PRS internally bridged the Treble and Bass channels.
