Stepping into the golden era of acoustic design, the Gibson Custom 1939 SJ-100 is a powerhouse instrument that breathes with the soul of a pre-war legend. This "Super Jumbo" was originally designed as a more accessible sibling to the SJ-200, but it quickly carved out its own identity with its sophisticated, understated aesthetics and thunderous projection. At its heart lies a top of Adirondack (Red) Spruce, a tonewood famed for its incredible stiffness and "velocity of sound".
