Description
2024 Fender Custom Shop Artisan Buckeye Burl Double Esquire - Aged Natural
The Fender Custom Shop Artisan Buckeye Burl Double Esquire effortlessly bridges the gap between classic vintage heritage and modern boutique artistry. Built upon the legendary Esquire and Telecaster blueprint originally created by Leo Fender in the early 1950s—a sound made iconic by trailblazers like Bruce Springsteen, Syd Barrett, and Brad Paisley—this masterpiece takes timeless single-cut design to entirely new heights. At its core is a chambered, lightweight roasted pine body crowned with an jaw-dropping figured buckeye burl top, wrapped in brown shell binding and classic herringbone purfling, and sealed in a thin NOS nitrocellulose lacquer finish for maximum natural resonance.
Crafted for pure playability, the neck on this Double Esquire is a true showstopper. Built from 3A roasted birdseye maple and shaped into a comfortable '60-style "Oval C" profile, it feels broken-in and effortlessly smooth in your hands. A round-laminated 3A rosewood fingerboard with a 9.5" radius and 21 narrow-tall frets provides a slick, modern playing surface that makes bending notes smooth and chording comfortable across every position.
Plug it in and you'll immediately hear why Custom Shop hand-wound electronics are in a league of their own. Loaded with a hand-wound '51 Nocaster bridge pickup and an open-loaded '51 Nocaster neck pickup tied together with Fat '50s Tele wiring, this instrument delivers classic snap, muscular midrange, and crystalline highs with incredible dynamic response. Rounded out by a reverse-angle '58–'63 Tele bridge with brass RSD saddles, brown shell tuner buttons, and a deluxe hardshell case, this guitar is a absolute dream for players and collectors alike.
