Description
Epiphone 1963 Firebird I - Heather Poly
This "Inspired by Gibson Custom" 1963 Firebird I is a must-have for any player who craves vintage vibe and tone without the vintage price tag. This isn't just an Epiphone; it's a collaboration with the Gibson Custom Shop, ensuring an authentic recreation of a legendary design. The guitar's foundation is a distinctive 9-ply mahogany and walnut neck-through construction, providing incredible sustain and a lively, resonant tone. The body is completed with mahogany wings, which add to the guitar's rich, full-bodied sound, perfect for the raw, rebellious blues and rock tones it was born to create.
The heart of this Firebird's sound is the single Gibson USA Firebird mini humbucker in the bridge position. This pickup, with its Alnico 5 magnets, delivers a unique voice—a perfect blend of humbucker depth and single-coil sparkle, offering a clear, defined sound that cuts through the mix. The stripped-down electronics, featuring a Master Volume and Master Tone, are hand-wired with premium CTS potentiometers and a Mallory capacitor for exceptional clarity and control. This simple, no-nonsense setup, combined with the vintage-correct Kluson "Banjo-style" Planetary tuners and a Wraparound Lightning Bar bridge, makes this guitar a true player's machine, just like the originals favored by blues legend Johnny Winter and rock icons like Keith Richards, Brian Jones, and Eric Clapton.
