Description
EarthQuaker Devices Plumes Small Signal Shredder Overdrive Pedal - Green
The EarthQuaker Devices Plumes Small Signal Shredder is a unique, all-analog approach to a classic tube-like overdrive circuit, meticulously reimagined to give players unmatched tonal clarity and headroom. Built around modern JFET operational amplifiers instead of traditional integrated circuits and transistor buffers, the Plumes boasts an ultra-high 10 megaohm input impedance. This design reduces noise while delivering a brilliant, three-dimensional high-end response that effortlessly cuts through the mix, ensuring your leads rise clearly above the rest of the band. Internally converting standard 9-volt power to +/- 9 volts, this pedal provides exceptional headroom to push your favorite tube amplifier right over the edge into rich, dynamic breakup.
At the heart of the Plumes is a versatile 3-way clipping mode toggle that completely transforms the character of the pedal. Mode 1 utilizes symmetrical LED clipping for maximum crunch and compression, mimicking a hot-rodded British stack. Mode 2 is a clean boost setting that removes the clipping diodes entirely for wide-open OpAmp drive, perfect for pushing your preamp or lifting your clean tone forward. Mode 3 features an asymmetrical silicon diode arrangement that delivers a transparent, loose feel with a warm low-end response. Combined with a heavily refined tone control that sculpts bass and treble while keeping the midrange focused and blooming, this pedal offers a massive palette of classic yet modern overdrive tones.
Constructed by hand in Akron, Ohio, the Plumes also features EarthQuaker Devices' innovative Flexi-Switch Technology. This relay-based true bypass switching system allows for both traditional latching and momentary-style operation from a single soft-touch footswitch. Housed in a durable enclosure with stunning custom artwork, the Plumes delivers professional-grade reliability and top-tier sonic performance designed to satisfy any tone enthusiast.
