The EarthQuaker Devices Blumes Jr MOSFET Mod packs the huge, low-end friendly overdrive of the original Blumes into a streamlined, pedalboard-friendly footprint. Specially engineered to retain full low-frequency clarity without needing a clean blend, this compact bass overdrive gives bassists and down-tuned guitarists all the growl, grit, and punch required to cut through any live or studio mix.
Under the hood, the Blumes Jr features an all-analog OpAmp circuit utilizing internal bipolar power for exceptional headroom, increased clarity, and a dynamic, three-dimensional response. While derived from classic tube-screamer soft-clipping topology, it delivers deep, full-bodied low end and boosted gain. The standout feature of this Jr modification is the updated 3-way clipping switch: Symmetrical LED clipping (L) provides crunchy, compressed bite; No Clipping (N) delivers a wide-open OpAmp boost; and the new MOSFET Mod (M) replaces the traditional screamer voice with a harmonically rich, focused drive that delivers expanded low-end authority and a touch-sensitive feel similar to a cranked high-gain tube amp.
