The Carr Raleigh is a boutique studio and practice powerhouse designed to capture both crystalline cleans and high-gain sustain at volume levels that won't disturb the neighbors. Drawing aesthetic and sonic inspiration from classic 1960s American blackface circuits, this amp delivers a dynamic, full-bodied response far beyond its compact footprint. Its single-ended Class-A output stage works in tandem with a premium 12" Celestion Creamback speaker to produce punchy, resonant tones that transition effortlessly from glassy low-end clarity to rich, singing overdriven leads.
At the heart of the Raleigh’s tone is a tube architecture featuring two 12AX7 preamp tubes and a single EL84 power tube. The 12AX7s provide the essential preamp gain and touch sensitivity, driving the signal into the EL84 to introduce rich harmonic warmth and smooth Class-A compression. A two-position Clean/Overdrive toggle switch completely transforms the circuit's personality, letting you jump from sweet, chimey cleans to a saturated British-style crunch. When switched to Overdrive mode, the dedicated Master Volume control engages, allowing you to dial in maximum tube saturation and singing sustain at true bedroom-friendly volumes.
