Part of the 2023 Fender Custom Shop collection, the Limited Edition Roasted "Big Head" Stratocaster® Relic® features a 2-piece select roasted alder body and roasted maple neck for stage-ready midrange punch. Featuring a big headstock that has been a classic Stratocaster design element since its introduction in the mid-1960s, it is available in attractive relic finishes such as Aged Black, Aged Vintage White, Aged Candy Apple Red, and Faded Sherwood Metallic. From the bridge to the headstock, subtle cracks and dents and scratches in the spider finish give it an authentic look that looks like it's been played in clubs and bars for years. 

Special pickups and wiring provide an amazing variety of tones. Three Custom Shop hand-wound Fat '60s pickups, including a reverse-wound/reverse-polarity middle pickup with hum canceling in switch positions 2 and 4, produce powerful tones with the sweetness of alnico 2 magnets. POMO (Postmodern) Strat® Fat '50s wiring provides a more transparent, bright, and powerful tone, and prevents sound thinning when the volume is lowered. The volume and tone controls respond more smoothly and evenly, making it easy to clean up the sound of overdriven amps by simply turning back your guitar's volume knob. Additionally, the Greasebucket™ II bridge pickup tone control minimizes gain/mid loss when turned down.

Other premium features include a roasted quartersawn maple neck with a '63-style "C" profile, a 9.5"-radius round lamb rosewood fingerboard with 21 jumbo frets (6100) and a bone nut; 11-hole gold anodized pickguard, Custom Shop vintage synchronized tremolo bridge, vintage style tuners, wing string tree with nylon spacers, and includes a deluxe hardshell case, strap, and certificate of authenticity.
