1959 Jazzmaster® Journeyman Relic® from the 2023 Fender Custom Shop Collection. Sixty-five years after the model debuted in 1958, this striking 1959 model features the look, sound, and vibe of an exquisitely revived Jazzmaster from its original era.

The sleek two-piece Select Ash body features a Journeyman Relic lacquer finish in Chocolate 3-Color Sunburst, Aged White Blonde, and Aged Dakota Red. This special finish recreates a look that has changed hands or been passed down through the years, giving it the feel of a home that has been used a fair amount for the occasional jam session or weekend gig. I am wearing it. This is a well-maintained piece that perfectly reproduces light cracks, familiar scratches and dents in the wood, and slight hardware deterioration over time.

The rift-sawn maple neck is a '62-style Jazzmaster "C" profile paired with a 9.5"-radius flat-ram rosewood fingerboard with 21 narrow-tall (6105) frets and a bone nut. For added vintage flair, a rare early Jazzmaster spec single-ply gold anodized pickguard, two Custom Shop hand-wound '62 Jazzmaster pickups with 3-way pickup switch, and vintage dual circuit (lead/rhythm) There is a lot of attention to detail everywhere. It features wiring and a 250k volume and tone potentiometer that improves both tone and playability with a unique modern touch.
