The Made in Japan International Color Series revisits a rare chapter in Fender® history and reintroduces a vibrant and beloved series. The original International Color collection made a bold and captivating debut over forty years ago, but was only in production for a short period. In 1981, this collection emerged with a fusion of '70s style and a fresh array of colors named after exotic and alluring locations on the map. Today, these International Colors are highly sought after by collectors due to their rarity and unique charm. Now, in a limited run, the Made in Japan International Color Series combines the lively vintage Fender vibe with expert craftsmanship from Japan, resulting in a truly remarkable instrument.

Breaking away from the conventional design, these basses feature resonant basswood bodies, maple fingerboards with a 9.5" radius, and medium jumbo frets, allowing for more adventurous playing styles. The '70s "U" shape neck is faithfully replicated, complete with elegant binding, white pearloid blocks, a convenient "Bullet" style truss rod nut, a three-bolt neck plate with Micro-Tilt™ mechanism, and even the serial number on the headstock face, just like the original. With vintage-style single-coil Jazz Bass® pickups and a 4-saddle bridge equipped with single groove saddles, these basses deliver the iconic Fender tone and feel.
