Lakland basses have a reputation for being among the most well-built instruments on the market. This is in large part due to the 44-94, their very first model introduced in 1994. The look and feel of our 44-94 is instantly familiar to anyone who is a fan of traditional aesthetic. But this instrument has a unique personality drawing on the best aspects of classic basses and updating them with modern playability and construction that is second to none. Able to emulate the tones of many popular basses, the Lakland 44-94 maintains a tonal character all its own. All Lakland 44-94 basses are 34″ scale with fingerboards available in Birdseye Maple, Rosewood*, Ebony, or Pau Ferro.

The 44-94 is configured with a 4 coil soap-bar pickup in the bridge position that includes a 3-position coil select mini toggle, and a dual coil J-style pickup featured in the neck position. All pickup combinations achieved through blending and/or coil selecting yields hum-cancelling operation. The LH3 pickup array is matched with our LH3 preamp featuring 3 bands of boost/cut EQ with a configurable midrange frequency point.
