The PRS SE NF 53 in Black Doghair breathes new life into a timeless design concept, borrowing its core DNA from one of Paul Reed Smith’s personal favorite vintage instruments from 1953. Built on a beautifully resonant swamp ash body, this guitar features an unmistakable single-cut silhouette adorned with a stunning Black Doghair finish that makes the natural wood grain lines jump to life. Paired with a snappy, bolt-on maple neck and matching maple fretboard, it serves up an addictive playing experience that traditionalists and modern players alike will fall in love with.
The magic truly happens when you plug it in. The SE NF 53 features proprietary PRS Narrowfield DD (Deep Dish) “S” pickups. Designed with taller bobbins and steel poles tucked between the magnets, these pickups capture all the meaty growl, chime, and single-coil-style twang you could ever ask for—but they operate as dead-silent humbuckers.
