This custom hand-wound humbucker set is meticulously designed for players seeking that perfect "edge of breakup" tone. Unlike modern high-gain monsters, the Controlled Burn set focuses on incredible clarity and dynamics, allowing your natural guitar tone to shine through. By utilizing an approximately 10% underwind of the high-output XT set, paired with warm Alnico 2 magnets and the classic "Stratty" chime of 45 gauge Formvar wire, these pickups deliver a balanced, powerful sound that screams with harmonics while remaining articulate even at low-gain settings. The aesthetic uncovered reverse zebra bobbins complete the custom, lightly aged look. Perfect for mahogany, ash, or alder guitars, this set offers exceptional versatility, making your volume knob a true tonal tool—from crystal cleans to harmonic saturation.
