Beginner Band
- Requirement: No prior instrument experience needed.
- Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Advanced Band
- Requirement: Completion of one year of Palen Homeschool Band or equivalent experience.
- Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Instruments Offered
Students can learn to play a variety of instruments, including:
Flute
Clarinet
Trumpet
Trombone
Percussion
Schedule and Key Dates
- Start Date: Tuesday, September 8, 2026
- End Date: Tuesday, December 1, 2026
- Note: Programs run during the spring and fall semesters. There are two semesters in a year, and no classes during the summer.
Location
All classes are held at Palen Music Center in Springfield, MO.
Cost and Fees
Early Bird Rate: $99/Month
Lock in this rate for the entire 6-month class period by enrolling before July 1, 2026
Standard Tuition covers eight hours of professional instruction per month.
- Monthly Tuition: $110
- Semester Tuition: $330
- Yearly Tuition: $660
Instrument Rental: Available separately through Palen Music Center for students who need an instrument. Students who own an instrument do not need to rent one.
Instructor
The programs are directed by Steve Palen, a state champion band director.
Performances
Students will participate in a performance night at the end of each semester to showcase their skills.
