The V40 The Duchess MKII Lunch Box Head represents the next evolution of Victory’s best-selling single-channel amplifier, refining the formula that made the original a modern classic. Designed as the ultimate pedal platform, this compact "lunchbox" head offers pristine high-headroom cleans that can easily transition into rich, edge-of-breakup grit. The circuit is built around a transatlantic tonal philosophy, allowing players to shift between refined American-style clarity and mid-forward British bite using the newly added 3-position Voice switch. Whether you need a blank canvas for your effects or a characterful drive tone on its own, the Duchess MKII delivers with exceptional responsiveness.

At the heart of the V40 MKII’s construction are two EL34 power tubes and three ECC83 (12AX7) preamp tubes, providing a warm, punchy foundation with 42 watts of headroom. The EL34s contribute a focused midrange and tight low end, but the amp also features a bias range switch, allowing you to swap in 6L6 tubes for a glassy, scooped low-end response if preferred. To further tailor your sound, the MKII includes a 3-position Mid Kick switch and two distinct digital reverb modes: a classic "Vintage" spring style and a "Modern" plate-style shimmer inspired by Victory's The Deputy amp. With a low-power mode that drops the output to 7 watts, this head is just as capable in the studio as it is on stage.
