The construction of the Archon Classic Head reflects PRS's renowned commitment to quality and durability. The intuitive control layout, featuring a 3-band EQ for each channel, allows for precise tone shaping, while individual channel volume and master volume controls provide comprehensive command over your sound. Under the hood, the Archon Classic's circuit is based on the original Archon design but with a refined gain structure. It's loaded with six JJ ECC83S preamp tubes and two JJ 6CA7 power tubes. The JJ ECC83S preamp tubes contribute to the amp's rich harmonic content and dynamic response, ensuring every nuance of your playing is captured. The JJ 6CA7 power tubes, often described as having characteristics of both EL34s and 6L6s, provide a robust and articulate tone with a smooth high end and tight, focused lows, making the amp incredibly versatile for various styles from classic rock to more modern, aggressive sounds.
