Hand-built in Gibson's celebrated Bozeman facility, this Pre-War SJ-200 is a loving recreation of its late 1930s counterparts, sparing no detail in its authentic construction. It is a stunning showpiece of handcrafted design and artisanship, made with premium solid tonewoods that are meticulously chosen for their acoustic properties. The guitar's soul comes from its solid rosewood back and sides, which deliver a full, deep bass response and rich, musically complex overtones. Paired with a thermally aged Red spruce top, which has been heat-treated to simulate the natural aging process, the sound is already mature, dry, and responsive. Red spruce, also known as Adirondack Spruce, is a stiff and hard wood that provides a clear, ringing tone that remains well-defined even when played hard.

The beautiful vintage-inspired appointments on this instrument are suitable for an art gallery display, but it would be a crime not to play it. The super jumbo body shape was originally designed to project and cut through the loudest acoustic ensembles.
