A band can't play if the clarinet is silent. An orchestra falls flat if the violin is cracked.
We are looking for the person who ensures the music never stops.
You won't be tuning up the instruments, but you'll be running the mission control that gets them back into the hands of a waiting student, a dedicated teacher, or a gigging musician. You are the Band & Orchestra Repair Support specialist—the linchpin who supports our expert technicians and connects our customers to their instruments' triumphant return.
This role is about precision, process, and people. You are the friendly, organized force that turns chaos into clarity, making sure every flute, saxophone, and trombone gets the TLC it needs on time.
The Gig: What You’ll Be Supporting
- Process Maestro: Orchestrate the entire instrument repair workflow using your organizational superpowers. Think: precise data entry, meticulous tracking on spreadsheets (Google Sheets/Docs are your jam!), and clear email communication.
- The Go-Between: Be the warm, reliable voice connecting our repair shop with customers. You'll handle repair outreach, give updates, and manage the logistics of getting instruments checked in and out.
- Active Organizer: It's not all screen time! You'll be actively moving instruments throughout the day, ensuring the right horn gets to the right tech at the right time.
- Team Player: Join a fun, supportive team at our Band and Orchestra offices in Springfield, dedicated to a 62-year legacy of keeping music alive in our community.
What We Need in Our Support Specialist
- Accuracy & Organization: You thrive on making sure everything is in its place and the numbers are right.
- People Skills: You have a genuine, friendly demeanor and strong communication skills.
- Tech Comfort: You are fluent and comfortable with the Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Forms, Email).
- A Fun Spirit: We spend a lot of time together, so a great attitude is non-negotiable!
