During the late 1950s to the early 1960s, the development of the Precision Bass® underwent a transformative phase, introducing numerous new features that would become synonymous with the P-Bass®. By 1960, the design of the P-Bass had surpassed its earlier influences from the Telecaster®, adopting a Strat®-style headstock shape, comfort-contours, pickguard-mounted electronics, and a 4-saddle bridge. Adorned in a 3-Color Sunburst finish and topped with a 4-ply tortoiseshell pickguard, the 1960 Precision Bass showcased a more refined and timeless aesthetic.
The American Vintage II 1960 Precision Bass is meticulously crafted with a premium alder body, a Pure Vintage '60 Split-Coil P-Bass pickup, and a substantial "C" shaped hard rock maple neck paired with a slab rosewood fingerboard boasting a 7.25" radius. This faithful reproduction captures the quintessential tone and feel of the original instrument.
