The PMC Quick Note is a weekly service provided to all area directors.  It is part of our mission to support the lives of band directors across the Midwest.  The weekly Quick Note contains helpful tips and suggestions from area directors, spotlights on area college and university band programs, calendars of upcoming events, advocacy articles promoting music education, links to helpful web resources, and much more.  Comments, suggestions, ideas, and articles are always welcome.

Disney Jazz Celebration -- February 19-21, 2009

The Walt Disney World Resort is proud to announce the premiere of Disney Jazz Celebration! Instrumental and vocal jazz ensembles are immersed in a rich learning and interactive environment, culminating with a "jammin" awards ceremony featuring some of the hottest artists in jazz. The 2009 Instrumental Adjudicators include:

• Dr. Willie Hill, Jr.
  Dr. Willie Hill is Director of the Fine Arts Center at the University of Massachusetts/Amherst and a Professor in Music Education. He has served as President of the National Association of Music Education (MENC) and as President of the International Association of Jazz Educators (IAJE).
  
  
• Joel Leach
  Joel Leach is the Professor of Music at California State University Northridge, and has been named "Jazz Educator of the Year" (Los Angeles Jazz Society). As a composer/arranger Mr. Leach published more than 100 publications for concert, jazz and marching bands.
  
  
• Dr. Ramon Ricker
  Dr. Ramon Ricker serves as the Senior Associate Dean for Professional Studies, Professor of Saxophone and Director, Institute for Music Leadership at the Eastman School of Music. His arrangements have been commissioned by the American, Atlanta, Cincinnati, and North Carolina Symphonies.
