Palen Music Center Quick Note Tuesday, May 27, 2008   The PMC Quick Note is a weekly service provided to all area directors.  It is part of our mission to support the lives of band directors across the Midwest.  The weekly Quick Note contains helpful tips and suggestions from area directors, spotlights on area college and university band programs, calendars of upcoming events, advocacy articles promoting music education, links to helpful web resources, and much more.  Comments, suggestions, ideas, and articles are always welcome.   Looking for help on a particular topic? Updated Recruiting Materials from Palen Music Center
For the past two years, Palen Music has supplied recruiting materials to the directors it serves. We called it the "Be In Band" campaign. Last year's DVD 2-disc package included recruiting handouts, parent letters, recruiting timeline and tips, along with a five-minute video that really got kids excited about joining the band program. Schools that utilized the videos and handouts showed a significant increase in student enrollment and it also saved the directors time and hassle in creating the materials.

The video is a wonderful tool to excite and inform potential band students about the program in your school. There are also updated handouts and materials to make your job easier and more successful. Together, we can help more kids "Be In Band".

We hope to continue to expand this program with more options, customizable forms, and more. Your feedback will help us to put the finishing touches on this project.

Quick Note On Vacation
