Use Cable Ties for
Quick Brace Repairs by
Jerry Rowden
In the shop we see lots of
loose braces on brass instruments that have been temporarily held together with
tape. The tape usually leaves a sticky residue that is often
hard to remove. I did some work for a drum corp recently and their
solution was to bind loose braces together with cable ties. They are
inexpensive, easy to remove, leave no residue and are available at any hardware
or home supply store. Using cable ties instead of tape is
a quick and easy repair technique that will help save on your repair
bills.
